Rick Altier has over 30 years of executive experience in the operations of major retail chains and in brokering commercial real estatedealsfor diverse industries. He brings to Caliber Commercial Brokerage a senior management background and proven hands-onability in multi-functional roles, including strategic planning, administration, operations, marketing, advertising, merchandising, realestate site selection, lease negotiations, inventory control, distribution, and human resources.
Rick began his professional career in the family business, Altier and Sons Shoes, Inc., a well-known western New York chain withmulti-million dollars in sales. As President, he was responsible for day-to-day store operations and all aspects of companymanagement.
Rick then became Executive VP of a multi-store retail footwear chain, Super Shoe Stores, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway withlocations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.At Super Shoe, he succeeded in expanding the chain of 20,000 square footstores from 11 to 16 locations within his first two years, while also increasing sales from $15M to over $20M a year.
Next, Rick founded then led thedevelopment and operations of a men’s health practice, shaping his affinity for the needs of medicaltenants in commercial real estate deals. His expertise grew with responsibility for site selection, project management, jointventurepartnerships, and program acquisitions positioning business development for outpatient dialysis companies.
Rick simultaneously served retail by developing a successful new shoe outlet concept and related shoe e-commerce site, and soldboth businesses in 2003.
Executive experience on both sides of the commercial real estate table, along the east coast and throughout New York State, hasuniquely positioned Rick to specialize in site searches and property development, particularly for healthcare facilities.
Rick is a graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School and SUNY Geneseo, and is also the owner/operator of a local Little CaesarsPizza franchise, and a Mobil Mart gas station and convenience store.Rick plays golf and hockey, and has six grandchildren.
